Isensee, describes in an article written in German Win Power Magazine (pages 35-37), how he and his company designed the Kitekraft system consisting of a kite that has 8 onboard (flying) wind turbines and flies autonomously in figure eight and generates electrical energy from the wind. The system needs 10 times fewer construction materials compared to a conventional wind turbine while being able to reach higher altitudes with stronger and more steady winds. This enables electricity generation at very low costs.
