New Spanish member from Galicia, a territory with excellent conditions for the development and deployment of Airborne Wind Energy systems

Head-Up Services is a company focused on the development of new businesses related to technological and disruptive innovations, boasting over three decades of experience in the maritime sector. Their involvement in the early projects of offshore wind energy in Europe attests to their extensive track record and specialized knowledge.

Located in Galicia, they have two production centers strategically positioned in “O Porriño” and “Fene”, with a workforce of over 200 highly skilled professionals. Airborne Wind Energy commitment in Spain

Arturo Franco, Chief Executive Officer and owner of Head Up expresses their commitment towards “innovation and sustainability, with our goal to significantly contribute to the advancement of energy technologies, paving the way for a more sustainable and efficient future in the field of energy generation”.

Regarding AWE deployment in Spain, Franco says that they have a “keen interest in leading nationally in the implementation of innovative energy generation systems, with a particular focus on AWE supporting Airborne Wind Europe. We are excited about collaborating in developing and testing new systems in Galicia with the vision of overcoming current airspace positioning limitations of these groundbreaking wind generators to achieve 100% renewable energy generation 24/7, complementing existing technologies to ensure maximum coverage in areas with limited network services”.

Statements that are shared and applauded by the Secretary General of Airborne Wind Europe, Kristian Petrick, who adds that is a pleasure “to have a new Spanish member from Galicia, a territory with excellent conditions for the development and deployment of Airborne Wind Energy systems as Spain has very good wind resources in large parts of the Peninsula, on the islands and offshore providing huge opportunities for AWE test and commercial operation”.
