Showcasing Airborne Wind Energy as a breakthrough solution for Europe’s clean, secure, and competitive energy future

Airborne Wind Europe proudly represented the Airborne Wind Energy (AWE) sector at the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2025, held from 10 to 12 June in Brussels. Together with our member Kitemill, we co-hosted a stand (C-23) in the Charlemagne Building, presenting this innovative renewable energy technology at the heart of EU policymaking to over 50 visitors.

Presence at the Energy Fair

Throughout the three-day Energy Fair, AWEU and Kitemill engaged with policymakers, industry stakeholders, students, and the general public. Visitors had the opportunity to explore:

  • Interactive demonstrations explaining how AWE works
  • Quizzes and visual learning tools
  • One-on-one conversations with experts about the real-world benefits of AWE in remote, off-grid, and hybrid contexts

Kristian Petrick, Malgorzata Matowska, and Jesús Carballo, alongside Kitemill representatives, introduced the advantages of AWE as a scalable, low-material, and high-potential technology for Europe’s energy transition.
