The upcoming Electrification Action Plan presents a major opportunity to strengthen Europe’s clean technology value chains. But achieving Europe’s industrial and electrification ambitions will require the right public support framework.
That is why Airborne Wind Europe has joined more than 50 cleantech organisations, in calling on the European Commission to revise the Clean Industrial State Aid Framework (CISAF).
The joint letter highlights that the current framework does not provide the bankable support needed to unlock private investment and scale up clean technology manufacturing across Europe.
Together, we are calling on the Commission to:
🔹 Enable output-based production support for key clean technologies
🔹 Apply clear, temporary and proportionate support mechanisms
🔹 Prioritise companies with a strong European industrial footprint
🔹 Introduce faster and more predictable approval procedures
🔹 Ensure State Aid reforms complement, rather than replace, future EU funding instruments such as the European Competitiveness Fund
For innovative sectors such as AWE, predictable and effective investment frameworks are essential to accelerate deployment, strengthen European manufacturing and reinforce Europe’s industrial competitiveness.
